# Set up Omni Analytics MCP Server

> Enable Omni's MCP server and connect semantic-layer tools to TrueFoundry.

Omni Analytics MCP gives agents access to Omni's semantic layer for listing models, choosing topics, querying data, and searching Omni documentation.

## Prerequisites

* A TrueFoundry account with permission to add MCP servers.
* Omni organization admin access.
* Personal Access Tokens enabled in Omni.

## Enable Omni MCP

In Omni, open **Settings** > **AI** > **General** and enable the MCP server. Then open **Settings** > **API Keys** > **Personal tokens** and confirm that PATs are enabled.

## Register in TrueFoundry

Add Omni as a remote OAuth MCP server in **MCP Gateway** using the MCP server URL from Omni. Add collaborators and save. Users should log in to the correct Omni organization in their browser, then open the server's **Tools** section and click **Connect Now**. After OAuth succeeds, Omni tools appear and can be tried from the **Agent Playground**.

## Security Notes

Omni creates an MCP OAuth PAT for each user during authorization. Access follows the user's Omni permissions and row-level security. Viewers may authenticate but cannot run queries unless Omni grants them query permissions.
